I once read that names which begin with the letter 'S' are the names of SNAKES!

It's storming outside, which means that I am watching old horror movies all night tonight (potentially mixed in with some horror gaming). Thank goodness I have the day off tomorrow!

The first movie I thought to watch was Suspiria, which just recently showed up on my Netflix instant queue.

Suspiria is a must see horror classic. For anyone who isn't familiar - from imdb:

"A newcomer to a fancy ballet academy gradually comes to realize that the staff of the school are actually a coven of witches bent on chaos and destruction."

The styling and the sets for this movie are absolutely gorgeous. The use of color and the completely unique soundtrack gives the film such a hip, vintage feel.

Horror movies these days are all about shocking and disgusting their viewers. Although Argento's use of gore in Suspiria was pretty shocking for the time, his use of ambiance and emotional reactions are really what draws the viewer in and makes their skin crawl in the best possible way.

They just don't make films like this anymore.

Loud Jewelry, Loud Patterns, Loud Music

Recently I've been a little bit obsessed with 90's fashion. I miss the mix of industrial and girly. This was probably one of my favorite periods in fashion as far as identifying my own personal style.

I find myself wanting to listen to loud, angry girl rock and wear combat boots with dresses again.

Norwegian Wood's Spring collection brings together a mixture of loud jewelry and bright patterns with punk style, as well as a little western flair. Love. It.

And then there are other times when I look toward the future.....
